The 16-inch gaming machine also sports the high-end Core i7-13700HX Raptor Lake CPU, 32GB of DDR5 memory as well as a 1TB SSD, while the RTX 4060 dGPU inside the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 has the highest possible TGP of 140 watts.

Gaming laptops with Nvidia's latest dedicated graphics cards are finally receiving steeper discounts in the double-digit range, which fixes one of the most glaring drawbacks of these latest machines - their disappointing price-performance ratio. For instance, a good-looking 2023 Lenovo Legion Pro 5i configuration is now on sale for a much more reasonable price than upon its release a few months ago.

In this particular case, the NYC-based retailer B&H Photo Video is offering the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 model with the Core i7-13700HX processor from Intel's Raptor Lake family of CPUs and the aforementioned Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU with 8GB of VRAM and a high TGP of 140 watts for US$1,349 including free shipping. This constitutes a discount of 25 percent or US$450 in comparison to the official list price of this latest 2023 version of the Legion Pro 5i, which also comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a superfast 240Hz QHD display with a peak brightness of 500 nits.

We've already tested a quite similar configuration of the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8, which received our praise for its dGPU that performs better than the average RTX 4060. Also, the QHD gaming laptop is easy to service thanks to its two RAM and M.2 slots, while we comfortable keyboard features adequately sized arrow keys. However, this machine is also fairly heavy and large in comparison to its direct competitors, and its battery life of about 3.5 hours in our websurfing test was rather short. The future may hold some more price drops for this mid-range gaming notebook, but for impatient gamers who can't wait any longer, this deal is a solid choice, although a faster AMD version of this machine is also available for just US$50 more.
